This earth-coloured concrete fire pit is made up of a supporting steel framework with the visible components finished in oxidised steel, which are given a special treatment to prevent corrosion. A good-sized group of people can gather round Ercole, creating a convivial focal point in the garden.
The upper concrete surface is hand-made with great artisanal skill, and is given a protective sealant treatment to prevent any surface dust.
The lower part of the fire pit is a generously-sized log storage adding to the aesthetic.
Ercole is supplied with a steel cover plate to cover the combustion chamber when not in use, in order to prevent the escape of ashes in the wind & rain.
When in use, the upper part of the fire pit does not overheat.
With the dedicated stainless-steel grill kit (sold separately), the fire pit can also be used as a barbecue.
Please note, the Oxidised version of this fire pit is now no longer available. Instead, there is now a new and improved Corten Steel version available which will, over time, reach the dark brown shade, similar to the Oxidised version. Please see below the cycle of the Corten Steel fire pit.
The Corten steel is supplied in its natural state (blue/black).
The surface has not yet developed the typical protective patina, this patina only develops under natural weathering conditions.
The duration of the oxidation process will then depend on exposure to atmospheric agents.
At the end of the natural cycle of maturation, the Corten steel reaches the characteristic dark brown shade.
